Expansion of Natural Gas Network in Türkiye Reaches 255,000 Kilometers by 2025

Natural Gas Network Extends Nationwide

The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources continues to advance the goal set by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in 2002 to deliver natural gas to every home in Türkiye. Over the years, significant progress has been made in both the length of the network and the number of settlements served.

Network Growth and Subscriber Increase

255,000 Kilometers of Infrastructure

In 2002, natural gas services were available in just 5 provinces and 57 settlements. By the end of 2025, Türkiye’s natural gas network reached a total of 255,000 kilometers, comprising 20,000 kilometers of distribution lines and 235,000 kilometers of transmission lines.

Wider Access and Rising Subscriber Numbers

As of last year, 81 provinces, 982 settlements, and 230 organized industrial zones had access to natural gas. The number of registered natural gas subscribers increased from 1.3 million in 2002 to 22.8 million by 2025.

Recent Developments and Future Targets

In 2025 alone, natural gas was introduced to 47 new settlements, leading to an additional 933,000 residential subscribers nationwide. Currently, approximately 85% of Türkiye’s population has access to natural gas. The Ministry aims to extend natural gas service to over 1,000 settlements by the end of this year.
